We caught up with Nick Dagger, Head of Marketing at ICS Accounting, the proud headline sponsors of Array Festival 2021. We spoke about all things Accounting, Array Festival and just how Lancaster is Punching above its weight.
Thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. We are so excited to have you as our headline sponsor for the Array Festival this year and can’t wait to see what you have in store for us. How have the past 12 months been at ICS Accounting, and have you got anything coming up that you are excited to tell us about?
We are very honoured to be sponsoring Array Festival and can’t wait for the event to start.
A lot has been happening at ICS Accounting recently. Notably, we have been assisting our contractor and freelancers with the changes in legislation to IR35. We have also been working with other accountancy firms, locally and nationally, that cannot provide a compliant IR35 solution for their contractor clients. Of course, we have just had the end of the financial year, which, as always, it’s is a busy time for any accountancy firm.
We have started returning to the office in reduced numbers after a year of working from home. It’s been great to see and hear the office buzzing with activity once again, all at a safe distance of course!
We are launching new accounting solutions for our clients very soon and as well as a new website in the not-too-distant future. Finally, we’re expanding part of ICS Accounting within the local community, but that’s all I can say about that right now!
So yes, plenty of things going on and so much to look forward to.
Array Festival is just one of the fantastic events ICS Accounting are involved in. What are some of your favourite things about being a business in Lancaster?
There are so many! Not only is Lancaster a beautiful part of the world and a great place to live and work, but one of the best things about running a business in Lancaster is the innovative opportunities, the amount of networking events and the community feel the city radiates! We do a lot of work within the local community by supporting Morecambe Food Banks, The Dukes ‘Play in the Park’ and St Johns Hospice. We also proudly sponsor Lancaster City Football Club, Morecambe Colts Under and Formby Juniors.
Events like the Array festival are helping put Lancaster on the map, along with all of the other amazing events that are hosted in Lancaster. There is so much talk about how to be innovative, you have to be based in the bigger cities, but it’s so wrong. Punching above our weight is a good phrase, we know Lancaster is a small city but it has so much to offer. We are punching above our weight and rightly so!
Can you give us a sneak peek at what we can expect from you during the Array festival?
We are so excited about Array Festival and we will be covering some hot topics, including Making Tax Digital, the tax relief of Research and Development, Super Deduction, and being on hand to answer all your accounting questions throughout the festival.
